LAC Flavors 2024 Meeting of Latin American and Caribbean Food and Beverage Sector to Focus on Amazon Economic Opportunities

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has announced the forthcoming LAC Flavors event, scheduled to take place on June 5 and 6, 2024, in Manaus, Brazil. As the primary business forum for the food and beverage industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, LAC Flavors serves as an essential platform for promoting trade and business opportunities within the region and beyond.

In collaboration with ApexBrasil, the Brazilian government’s export promotion agency, the event aims to facilitate matchmaking opportunities between Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from Latin America and the Caribbean and global buyers. This initiative aims to enhance the regional economy by leveraging trade partnerships and encouraging business growth.

LAC Flavors 2024 will feature a diverse array of activities including matchmaking sessions, workshops, and seminars covering pertinent topics such as sustainable sourcing, food tech, certifications, e-commerce, negotiation techniques, and sustainable packaging. Moreover, a special session curated by local and international world-renowned chefs will explore the culinary delights of Amazonian ingredients, highlighting the region’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Organized by the IDB through its ConnectAmericas platform—the first business-oriented social network in the Americas—the event will showcase culinary innovation and traditional flavors from across the region, with a particular focus on the offerings of the Amazon.

Registration for the event is currently open, with the IDB offering travel and accommodation benefits to up to 200 SMEs in the food and beverage sector from the 26 IDB member countries, as well as 100 Brazilian SMEs through collaboration with ApexBrasil. Interested participants must meet specific criteria and register by April 15 to avail of these incentives.

Since its inception, LAC Flavors has facilitated over 23,000 one-on-one business meetings, resulting in over a billion dollars in closed and prospective deals, underscoring its significance as an essential event for regional trade and economic development.
