IDGeo Closes R$5 Million Seed Funding to Enhance Agricultural Monitoring

BB Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital fund of Banco do Brasil, managed by MSW Capital, has announced a R$ 5 million seed funding round for IDGeo, a technology company specializing in agricultural monitoring solutions. Founded in 2016 in Piracicaba, São Paulo, IDGeo utilizes satellite radar and sensors to provide precise and continuous monitoring of agricultural areas, even under cloudy conditions. The company employs proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms to interpret satellite images, enabling the identification of specific field issues and enhancing decision-making in agribusiness.

IDGeo’s expertise encompasses business intelligence, intelligent spatial analysis, geostatistics, big data, and geoprocessing. The company serves clients such as Ipiranga Agroindustrial, Acelen Renováveis, NTT DATA, and Bracell. Additionally, IDGeo collaborates on international projects with the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria, focusing on regenerative and small-scale farming.

The new funding will support IDGeo’s commercial expansion and increase its market presence with existing technologies. It will also enable the development of products aimed at restoring degraded pastures, improving soil quality, and enhancing carbon sequestration capacity, contributing to environmental sustainability.

Ronan Campos, founder and CEO of IDGeo, stated, “This investment allows us not only to expand our market presence but also to accelerate the development of innovative technologies for degraded pasture recovery and strengthen our AI solutions. Our vision is to transform the agricultural sector with sustainable and technologically advanced solutions. This investment is crucial to achieving this goal.”

IDGeo will also use the funds to accelerate the development of its proprietary AI technologies, currently being tested in Canada. The company is partnering with institutions like the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (AMII) and Olds College to finalize a robust AI model for agricultural monitoring.

This investment marks the fifth by BB Ventures, which seeks to invest in startups strategically aligned with Banco do Brasil’s innovation ecosystem. Just a few months back, the firm led Traive’s round.
