Morfo Secures $4.5M Investment for Expansion of Reforestation Technologies
Morfo, a French-Brazilian startup focused on reforestation using advanced technologies, has recently secured a substantial investment in its latest funding round. The company announced a successful seed round extension, raising €4 million ($4.5 million), led by Teampact Ventures, with contributions from RAISE Seed for Good, Demeter, and AFI Ventures. The funding is aimed at expanding its research and development capabilities with a new laboratory in Rio de Janeiro.
The startup, established in 2021 by Adrien Pages, Hugo Asselin, and Pascal Asselin, employs drones and artificial intelligence to facilitate large-scale reforestation efforts. The company plans to leverage these technologies to analyze extensive areas of land, with the goal of increasing efficiency by tenfold in the next two years. The use of drones allows Morfo to gather and analyze biodiversity data more efficiently than traditional methods, reducing costs and enhancing operational effectiveness.
The company combines seed encapsulation, microbiology, and computer vision to develop its ecological reforestation solutions for tropical areas. It looks to position itself as a key player in the protection and restoration of biodiversity thanks to its three technological cornerstones: Agritech, Computer Vision and Drones.
Morfo’s innovative approach to reforestation not only supports ecological restoration but also holds the potential to generate employment opportunities in the fields of reforestation and data analysis. The investment underscores the growing interest in sustainable forestry and technology-driven environmental solutions.
