Husqvarna Group has announced the acquisition of InCeres, a Brazilian company specializing in precision agriculture and soil analysis. The acquisition is part of Husqvarna Group’s strategy to enhance its Total Farm Management offering within the Light Agriculture business unit, under the Husqvarna Forest & Garden Division.

InCeres, founded in 2014, has established itself as a leader in digital platforms for soil analysis, enabling farmers to make informed decisions that boost productivity. The company’s platform, which operates on a subscription model with 100% recurring revenue, will be central to Husqvarna’s efforts to digitize farm management. This move is expected to address challenges such as climate change, reduced farmland, and the growing demand for sustainable food production.

Mauro Favero, President of Light Agriculture at Husqvarna Forest & Garden Division, emphasized the significance of integrating digital intelligence with mechanical solutions to create a comprehensive offering for light agriculture. “This offering will create synergies with Husqvarna Group’s current agriculture solutions, driving a higher conversion of light agriculture farmers into a unique and trusted Husqvarna ecosystem,” Favero stated.

InCeres, which is also part of the portfolio of the venture capital firm SP Ventures, has seen significant growth, with 2023 sales reaching SEK 9.3 million, a 50% increase from the previous year. The company currently operates on over 5 million hectares across Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, and Bolivia.

The financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, and the completion of the transaction is subject to antitrust approval by local authorities.

Husqvarna Group, with its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, is a global leader in products for managing forests, parks, and gardens. The company operates under the brands Husqvarna and Gardena, with 2023 net sales of SEK 53.3 billion and approximately 13,800 employees across 40 countries.
