Camposol and India’s Ninjacart Form Strategic Partnership for Blueberry Distribution

Camposol, the leading blueberry producer in Peru, has entered into a strategic partnership with Ninjacart, an Indian agritech startup supported by Walmart. This alliance aims to enhance the availability of high-quality Peruvian blueberries in India.

The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) earlier this month, seeks to leverage Ninjacart’s technologically driven supply chain and extensive retail network. The agreement outlines the distribution of Camposol’s blueberries across over 100 cities in India, reaching more than 100,000 retail outlets.

Both companies have set a target to market between 250 and 275 tons of Peruvian blueberries during the current season. Sergio Torres, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Camposol, emphasized that Ninjacart’s significant presence and deep understanding of the Indian market will be crucial in establishing Camposol as a leading blueberry supplier in the region.

The partnership aims to address the supply gap between seasonal imports and domestic production, contributing to the growth of the Indian blueberry market. Ninjacart’s co-founder and International Business Director, Sharath Loganathan, highlighted the expected market expansion, forecasting a 20-25% growth over the next three years. He noted that with increased volumes, both domestic and imported, consumers are expected to benefit from more competitive pricing.

This collaboration is envisioned as a long-term effort to create a sustainable blueberry supply chain throughout India and potentially strengthen agricultural ties between Peru and India.
