The Yield Lab Latam Invests in Agricapital

The Yield Lab Latam, a venture capital fund focused on agrifood technology, has expanded its portfolio with an investment in Agricapital, a Colombian fintech specializing in agricultural financing for small farmers. This marks the fund’s 28th investment in Latin America.
Agricapital provides digital financing solutions to small-scale farmers, leveraging a network of local partners to facilitate access to rural credit. The company has served more than 7,000 active clients and has supported over 14,000 rural producers. Its approach integrates technology and strategic partnerships with input distributors and cooperatives to streamline risk assessment and accelerate loan approvals. The recent funding round also included participation from Alive Capital.
Sebastián Correa, Co-founder and CEO of Agricapital, described the investment as a significant step in the company’s expansion. “Partnering with The Yield Lab Latam strengthens our ability to invest in technology and improve access to financing for small farmers in Colombia. Over time, we aim to extend these efforts to other Latin American markets.”
The investment comes from The Yield Lab Latam’s Opportunity Fund, which targets early-stage startups in Latin America working in agtech, climatech, and fintech.
Tomás Peña, Managing Director of The Yield Lab Latam, emphasized the fintech’s potential to drive financial inclusion. “Agricapital offers a scalable model that enhances access to credit for rural producers. By reducing service costs and improving financial accessibility, the company has the potential to create a lasting impact not only in Colombia but across the region.”
