10 Startups Showcased at Argentina’s Aapresid Pitch Competition

Stage with the finalist startups at Aapresid Congress

The Agtech Demo Day was a notable highlight at the 2024 Aapresid Congress in Argentina, where 10 local startups showcased their innovative solutions for the agricultural sector. The event, organized by Innventure, a fund dedicated to agtech investments, highlighted the technologies these companies are developing to address key challenges in agriculture.

Sensify took the top prize with its advanced system for managing and monitoring the cold chain of food products, leveraging artificial intelligence and IoT. This technology is already being used by leading companies across ten countries, including Mexico, Brazil, and Spain, providing vital insights that help optimize food preservation and commercial strategies.

Zoom Agri earned second place with its AI-based grain quality analysis technology. Using computer vision, their system offers real-time varietal recognition, which is currently deployed at numerous ports in Argentina and 26 other countries. The technology is particularly important for global markets, where it leads in malt purity analysis and is expanding into more complex crops like soy and wheat.

Nat4Bio, which secured third place, developed organic coatings that significantly extend the shelf life of fruits, potentially reducing post-harvest waste by up to five times. This innovation addresses a critical issue in the food supply chain, where spoilage often leads to significant losses.

The event also featured other impressive finalists, each bringing unique solutions to the agricultural sector:

  • Ucrop.it: Specializing in blockchain-based traceability, Ucrop.it helps farmers document and verify sustainable practices, enhancing transparency from farm to market.
  • AgriRed: This platform connects buyers and sellers of agricultural inputs, improving market access and pricing transparency.
  • Silo Real: Silo Real gives silo bags a unique identity and continuous remote monitoring, enabling better management, liquidity access, and new business wopportunities.
  • Eiwa: Eiwa offers cloud infrastructure to aggregate data from various sources and formats, applying AI to enhance the development and management of farm input products.
  • Circular: Circular integrates the end-to-end logistics process of grains, allowing all involved parties to benefit from collaboration and integrated process management.
  • Cattler: Cattler is a mobile and desktop management platform that allows the cattle farmer to run all its operation in one place.

A special recognition for “Sustainable Innovation” was awarded to Reforest Latam, a startup using drone technology and environmental mapping to regenerate forests and jungles in remote areas. Their approach not only enables large-scale reforestation but also offers a way to measure and monetize environmental impact through green bonds.
