Phytech Expands Digital Agriculture Solutions into Latin America

Israeli ag-tech company Phytech has expanded its operations into Latin America, establishing subsidiaries in Peru and Chile while extending its services to Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Guatemala, and Mexico. This strategic move aims to support farmers in the region with digital solutions for irrigation and crop monitoring, addressing challenges such as water scarcity and climate adaptation.

Phytech provides growers with a mobile platform that integrates real-time data from proprietary plant and field condition sensors. These sensors continuously monitor crop hydration levels and environmental factors, offering precise irrigation recommendations. The system also includes hydraulic monitoring for water tanks, pumps, filters, and valves, allowing for predictive maintenance and early issue detection. By automating these processes, Phytech helps reduce reliance on manual inspections and minimizes potential crop losses.

Leading the company’s Latin American operations is Ilan Liwski, an agritech expert with 18 years of experience in business development and sustainable agriculture. Based in Argentina, he will oversee the company’s regional expansion and its collaboration with local agricultural producers.

Phytech CEO Oren Kind emphasized the importance of this expansion, stating that Latin America is a rapidly growing region for irrigated agriculture. He highlighted the role of precision irrigation in improving resource efficiency and sustainability, noting that Phytech’s solutions currently support over 1,000 growers worldwide, covering 45 million trees across 18,000 sites.

Liwski underscored the company’s comprehensive approach, combining in-house technology with field support to help farmers implement more efficient and sustainable agricultural practices. With its advanced monitoring and automation capabilities, Phytech aims to enhance productivity and resource management for growers throughout the region.
