Bizuu Secures $1 Million for Expansion of Restaurant Service Platform
Brazilian startup Bizuu has raised R$ 6 million (approx. USD 1M) in a pre-Series A funding round to support its expansion within Brazil and to prepare for future international growth. The company, which has seen monthly growth surpassing 30%, recorded over R$ 1 million in sales and boasts 500,000 active users across its app and social media platforms. Its goal is to strengthen its position in the bar and restaurant service sector by introducing a new approach to customer engagement.
Founded in May 2023, Bizuu has attracted R$ 6 million in investments from international funds based in France, the UK, and Dubai. The startup has also secured backing from a U.S.-based family fund for its current funding round, which is expected to provide the necessary capital for further expansion into Brazilian cities with populations exceeding 500,000. Bizuu was also featured as an impact startup at the first two editions of the Rio Web Summit.
Bizuu’s scalable business model connects bars and restaurants with consumers through real-time offers via its app. This approach allows establishments to attract customers during slower periods, while users benefit from instant promotions. The model has proven successful in the Greater Rio de Janeiro area, where Bizuu has reached more than 5 million people.
At the 2024 Rio Web Summit, Bizuu introduced the “Bizuu Ambassador” program, allowing users to recommend their favorite restaurants and receive a commission on sales for a limited time. This initiative has organically increased the number of restaurants participating on the platform.
Bizuu’s leadership team includes CEO and co-founder Antoine Marmelo, a French national who has lived in Rio for over 20 years, alongside Belgian product head Anne Catherine and Portuguese marketing and growth head Tiago Maciel.
