BeeHero Expands Precision Pollination Services into Peru, Chile and Mexico
BeeHero, a California-based precision pollination startup, is expanding its operations into Latin America, according to an interview published by AgFunder News. The company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Peru’s National Confederation of Beekeepers (CONAPI) to collaborate on projects and promote awareness about the role of beekeeping in commercial pollination.
Founded in 2017, BeeHero employs sensor technology to monitor over 300,000 hives globally. These sensors track key metrics such as sound, temperature, and humidity within beehives, allowing beekeepers to monitor hive health in real-time. This technology supports farmers by improving pollination efficiency, addressing concerns over the rising cost of pollination services, and ensuring hive quality in the field.
BeeHero’s recent entry into Latin America covers key agricultural regions in Peru, Chile, and soon also Mexico. The company is focused on high-value crops like berries and avocados, which rely heavily on pollinators. This expansion follows its success in the US and Australian markets.
