The selected candidate is expected to be part of a team engaged in metabolic engineering. The candidate will be engaged in identifying, characterizing and quantifying target molecules in Quillaja Saponaria, an endogenous Chilean tree.&nbsp; Applicants should have an M. Sc. or a Ph. D. degree in the discipline of biochemistry, analytical chemistry or related field and proficiency in analytical tools including HPLC, LC-MS and GC-MS. A priority will be given to candidates with experience in the pharmacology industry.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Support a team of researchers by analyzing targeted plant metabolites in the pathway leading to accumulation of specific saponin molecules.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>High throughput bioprospection of hybrids and engineered lines of plants for specific saponin compounds.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Participate in plant in-vitro biology experiments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Conduct experiments in protein and nucleic acid chemistry&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>M. Sc. or Ph.D. in a related field<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Experience in phytochemistry and or analytical chemistry.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Ability to read, analyze and interpret scientific data, technical- protocols and related government regulations.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Proficiency in statistical analysis.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Ability to occasionally travel outside the US as needed for business purposes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>5-10 years of experience in either industry and or academia, ideal candidate would have experience or exposure to the pharma industry<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>A priority will be given to candidates with an ability to communicate in Spanish.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Full-time position<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Salary ranging from $80.000 to $120.000, commensurate with experience and qualifications&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Benefits include Health insurance, dental, vision, 401K, PTO including sick days and holidays.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><span>This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting edge Research &amp; development team in an Agbiotech startup.
